Had the opportunity last Friday, and Saturday morning, to explore Washington's MA13 and fish it for the first time in over 30 years. Launched the boat with my oldest son, and oldest grandson, with a goal of getting the little guy into his first fish. That goal was reached shortly after launching as he brought in his first salmon. A pink that took the blue/black-scales OG2 in the 3.9" size. Hooked another humpie and had it come off at the boat. A couple of hours later, hooked a decent hatchery Chinook. That Chinook took the green/black-scales OG2 in the 3.9" size. Headed back to the Pt. Defiance boat house and took care of the fish at the cleaning station.
Saturday morning, we launched again. A bit slower than Friday. But, we managed a hot Chinook on the 3.9" white/green/pink OG2 right around the tide change. About the same size as Friday's. Great fight. Actually came out of the water twice! But, when we got it to the boat, it had an intact adipose. So, we released it. Photos below:
