Chris D. just emailed the below report and photos from a fishing trip on Puget Sound yesterday:
"What a morning! Fishing spot by 0715 and done by 0745. First fish came in at 5lbs on a herring aide coho killer. Second fish came in at 10lbs in the 3.9" OG2 green on green. OG2 out fished again!" Chris: Thanks for putting the lure to work! Absolutely appreciate it! (That fluoro-green/chartreuse OG2 has been a workhorse for us out of Sekiu!)

Courtesy of our master-rigger, Jed W., we're introducing four new OG1s that are pre-rigged for kokanee (with 4mm beads and tandem size-4 hooks).
The smaller, 2.13", lures vibrate at a higher frequency than the 2.44" lures. (Sometimes that faster vibration will trigger the strike.) Sue H. submitted the below report and photos from an outing on Lake Chelan yesterday:
"Caught yesterday morning first thing. Just got line out and trying to clip to downrigger when it hit and I looked back and it leaped out of the water. About 5# land-locked chinook on Lake Chelan. Very exciting. Made our day." (In a follow-up, Sue noted that they had shortened the leader to 28" behind the flasher.) Sue: We absolutely appreciate the report and the photos! Thank you! Anthony J. just forwarded a couple of pictures from a successful outing for King salmon out of Homer, Alaska. (He was fishing the Fluoro-Green/Chartreuse OG2.)
Anthony! Thanks for putting our lures to work! I've never had a chance to fish Billy Clapp. But, after watching the Northwest Fishing Reports (NWFR) video that just appeared on youtube (link below), I'm definitely hoping to get up there this spring or summer!
Their first fish was a monster 'bow and their second fish was a nice walleye. Both on the OG1! Here's the link. Our original OG2, that simulates the Pacific Sandlance, was the 2.8" size. As an experiment, we recently added a 3.3" size in the blue/black-scales. And, we received multiple reports that this size is catching fish!
So, we've added a new 3.3" OG2 in fluoro-white with black scales. We think the two 3.3" lures: Blue/black-scales and Fluoro-white/black-scales will provide an effective arsenal for the salmon that are targeting a larger sandlance (or similar sized bait fish). Both 3.3" lures are available now through our online store. |
