Randy Rauscher ran the fluoro-pink/green/white OG2 in the Puget Sound last week and did well on the resident coho. You can read his report here.

Received the below email from a customer who bought 28 OG2s from us last week:
"Hello, Recently just ordered 16 OG2 3.9 inch, 12 OG2 2.8 inch of the 4 color options available. Went out to MA10 in Washington where local Coho are open. Mostly this was a trip to test out some new electronics on my Dads new fishing boat. Put a 2.8 white/blk OG2 on my dads rod, and it was instantly getting action all afternoon. I love trying new lures out and am very excited that I found your company, action looks amazing in the water and can’t wait to use these for the upcoming salmon openers later this season. Thinking we’re gonna need to stock up more of these for the rest of the season. For maintenance on the lure hardware. What size/brand swivels etc. are on them for replacing out on the 2 OG2 sizes? When replacing components want to make sure we keep the action as designed. Thank you again for such an awesome product will definitely post up some great reviews and results in the upcoming months. And if you make any new colors I’d be interested, Nick" Nick: Thank you for the email! (And, thanks for putting the OG2s to work out there!!) Just noticed the following report in today's Spokane Spokesman Review outdoor's section (written by Alan Liere):
"Because I couldn’t get out myself, I gave a friend heading to Lake Roosevelt a new 2.8-inch perch-colored Old Goat Lure to try for trout. He reported exceptional results on the smaller plants, but also caught a dandy carryover down deep at 45 feet as well as two nice walleye." Alan: We appreciate the report! Thank you!! We're introducing a couple of new lures for the guys fishing trout and kokanee. The first is a 2.13" OG1 in green/black-scales. The second is a 2.44" OG1 in purple/black-scales.
They're both available through our online store. Pictures below:
While the OG2 was designed for salmon (Kings, Coho, Pinks, etc.), we periodically receive reports from saltwater fishermen who have picked up other species.
That's exactly what happened today when the guys at Olmsted Outdoors, in Kenai, Alaska, sent us this video clip: Captain Dale from Ruby D Charters in Seattle has been fishing the OG2 with success for the resident coho. He submitted the picture below of several happy customers with their limits.
Dale: We absolutely appreciate your putting the OG2s to work there in Puget Sound! A customer fished the OG1 in a derby this past Saturday on Lake Washington. He recorded the outing on Northwest Fishing Reports.
I'm attaching an excerpt from his report below: "All were caught on our Old Goat lures so be sure and get some for your tackle box. We ended up with 11 cutthroat, 2 had to be thrown back as they did not meet the 12" inch minimum but we, and I of coarse mean the kids on the boat, landed 4 that were about 2 pounds each and 1 that was 2lbs 10oz and the other was 2lbs 14oz. The derby awards were handed out and the top three fish in the derby were all caught by kids. We had 3 kids in our boat and Milo took 2nd place in the derby while Gavin took 3rd place. A great day for the Bounty Hunter and bragging rights too." Dan! We really appreciate your confidence in our lures and your willingness to put them to work last Saturday! Thank you! Received an email report this evening from a customer who was out on Lake Washington today fishing the Perch OG1s and getting dialed in for a derby next Saturday. He included a photo of two nice cutts they'd taken--the larger measured 19" and weighed 2.5 pounds.
Excerpt from his report here: ..."The lures work great and I will be ordering more as soon as I can get the time to put an order together. My Dad and brother also caught a couple on Old Goats in another boat today!" Tim: We absolutely appreciate your report, the photo, and your willingness to put the OG1s to work out there! Thank you! The 2.8" OG2, in this color, triggered the Blackmouth on Puget Sound last winter.
To complete our 2018 offerings for salmon fishermen, we've added those same colors in the 3.9" model. (Each color--white, green, and pink--contain a UV reflective component.) To order, see our online store. Received the below picture from a fisherman in Connecticut who was fishing the 2.44" OG1 in fluorescent pink on a local lake. He took a nice 18" kokanee.
(Art: We absolutely appreciate you putting the OG1s to work there on the east coast!) |
