Who We Are |
We're a small business. When I say small, I really mean small: I design, test, build, and paint the lures. (In addition, I maintain the website and the 3D printers.) My wife handles: rigging, shipping, book keeping, and more!
All that said, we'd never be where we are today if it weren't for a number of folks who have offered encouragement, support, and help in everything from spinning-up, and reviewing, a website to testing lures. To each of you who have helped--we are absolutely indebted and thankful. |
Our History |
In July of 2014, after over 25 years of service, Microsoft handed me (and 18,000 coworkers) the pink slip. Looking back, it was the best thing that ever happened as it gave me a chance to focus on two of my passions: technology and fishing.
Old Goat lures combines those passions. I use a 3D printer to create lure prototypes, test them in a livestock trough next to our barn, and then take the promising prototypes out into the field for live tests on local lakes and the open water off of the Washington coast. The first lure that we released was designated the OG1. This was followed by the OG2. (In February 2017, the US Patent Office granted a patent for our design: US D779,028 S.) |
