Fished last Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning for the coho salmon out of Masons Resort in Sekiu, Washington. We spent Tuesday experimenting with different OG2 colors and sizes. The top producer turned out to be the 2.8" OG2 in fluoro-green/chartreuse. The runner-up was the 2.8" OG2 in fluoro-green/orange.
On Wednesday morning, we put two fluoro-green/chartreuse OG2s out--one on each downrigger. Fishing them with the leader length out of the box behind a 10" Big Al's fish flash. One attractor was green/chrome, the other chartreuse chrome. We fished one at 30 feet on the cable. And, we fished the other at 100 feet on the cable. We were fishing in water depths of 400 to 600 feet. Before noon that morning, we had our limits of 2 hatchery coho apiece. (And, during that time, we'd released a number of other unclipped fish.)
